Family Fun Day at Gilbert’s Sale Yard Jan. 20 to benefit adults and children with disabilities

FLOYD — A group that raises money to send adults and children to resident camp at Easter Seals/Camp Sunnyside in Des Moines is sponsoring a Family Fun Day fundraiser on Saturday, Jan. 20. The Chickasaw County chapter of the Pony Express Riders’ event runs from 5-11 p.m. at Gilbert’s Sale Yard, in Floyd. Adult admission is $10. Children 12 and younger get in for $5. Jan. 13 benefit to help 20-year-old after heart surgery

CLARKSVILLE — A benefit on Saturday, Jan.13 at a Clarksville tavern aims to help a 20-year-old man as he recovers from heart surgery. Grady Wayne of Clarksville, son of Gena Gallmeyer, had open heart surgery on Oct. 30 to fix several issues with his heart, according to event notices posted online. 21st annual SpookWalk is Oct. 26 in Charles City

Extension news release NASHUA – The Annual Home Demonstration Garden Tour at the ISU Northeast Research Farm will run from 4 to 6 PM on August 5th. Cindy Haynes, ISU Horticulturalist, will highlight this year’s garden theme “Donation Gardens” and discuss this year’s vegetable and flower cultivars planted and other gardening techniques.
