CHARLES CITY — The 17th annual Floyd County Turkey Trackers Hunting Heritage Banquet will be Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Elks Lodge in Charles City. The doors will open at 5 p.m. With dinner served at 7 p.m.

The evening will feature live and silent auctions, gun raffles and a free children’s auction.
The Floyd County group is affiliated with the National Wild Turkey Federation that was founded in 1973. There were about 1.5 million wild turkeys in North America at the time, according to the NWTF website. “After decades of dedicated work, that number hit a historic high of almost 7 million turkeys thanks to the tremendous efforts of our dedicated volunteers, professional staff and committed partners,” it said.
