Two people facing charges after crash
A crash at about noon Sunday, Dec. 11, near Wadena led to citations against one of the drivers and a drug charge against a man in a trailing vehicle. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reports that it was called to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Filmore Road and Cedar Road. A 2013 Chevy Equinox driven by Kanyia Garmon, 27, of Burlington, had pulled out from the stop sign into the path of a juvenile operating a 2005 Dodge Ram truck pulling a livestock trailer. Nashua-Plainfield’s boys wrestling team came in second at its home tournament on Saturday. The Huskies finished with 226.5 team points in the 16-team field. Wilton was first with 235.5. Nashua-Plainfield individual results so far 106 — Jayden Rinken took first and scored 20 team points. He won by fall in the first two rounds. WAVERLY — Charles City’s girls wrestling team traveled to the Go-Hawk Invite on Tuesday at Waverly-Shell Rock and brought home some medals.. 2023 hunting, fishing licenses on sale beginning Dec. 15
By the Iowa DNR Iowans can begin buying 2023 resident hunting, fishing and other licenses on Dec. 15. Licenses purchased for 2022 expire on Jan. 10, 2023. The menu of license options includes the popular Outdoor Combo annual resident hunting/fishing/habitat combo license for $55; the Angler’s Special three-year fishing license for $62; and the Hunter’s Special three-year hunting license with habitat included for $101. News Release from the IHSAA BOONE, Iowa – An amendment to the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s Articles of Incorporation to include a socioeconomic factor into football classifications has advanced to a vote of the membership to begin next week.
