Oelwein AM Update (Dec. 8): Snow, rain and ice overnight; elementary concert at 6 p.m.

Good morning. It’s Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, and there is a winter weather advisory in place for the region.


After this morning’s fog lifts, today will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. East wind around 10 mph.

Tonight, the low temperature will be around 29 with east winds gusting as high as 23 mph. Overnight, watch for snow and freezing rain starting before 4 a.m. New ice accumulation of around a 0.1 of an inch possible. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Friday, rain and snow will continue. The high temp will be around 36 with an east wind 10 to 13 mph. Gusts as high as 21 mph. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
