Heather Sibbits passes at age 37

 GREENE —Heather Sibbits, 37, of Greene, formerly Charles City, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 at her home. Nashua will be a happening place this weekend. Nashua-Plainfield High School students will present the comedy “Three’s a Family,” at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in the school’s gymnasium. Admission is $3. Also in Nashua, the citywide garage sales will begin Friday and last until Saturday. The Goodwill truck will be in town for donations. Y soccer season games begin

CHARLES CITY — Soccer season is in full swing in America’s Hometown. The Charles City Family Y youth soccer program has at least 300 players from grades kindergarten to 8th grade, roughly 60 are from the middle school grades. State says Lindaman deserves a new trial

By Chris Baldus, news@northcedarreports.com Former Floyd County Magistrate Doug Lindaman, who is serving a 10-year sentence in an Iowa prison, has new hope that his third-degree sexual abuse conviction will be reversed and he will get a new trial. Lindaman, who has had a handful of his post- conviction relief motions denied, is now the beneficiary of a motion  from the Iowa Attorney General’s Office to summarily reverse his conviction.  The Iowa Supreme Court will rule on the motion. Sign up for CC Girls’ City League Softball by April 12

CHARLES CITY — The deadline is coming up quickly to sign up girls to play in this year’s City League. Applications need to be turned in no later than April 12 to Stock Glass/Graphic Gallery in Charles City. It’s next to Subway across the street from the courthouse.  The $15 registration fee must be turned in with the application. Applications are available at Charles City schools and Stock Glass/Graphic Gallery. Practices might begin the week of May 7, according to the application.
