N-P, North Butler boys golf teams advance to Districts

NASHUA — Nashua-Plainfield and North Butler’s boys golf teams advanced to District play by finishing second and third on Thursday at sections. The Nashua Town and Country Club hosted the meet. Due to the impending weather forecast for Friday, the section’s schools decided to move the tournament up a day. SHEFFIELD — Nashua-Plainfield girls won their golf triangular on Monday in Sheffield, while the boys team placed second. Golfers had to outwit strong winds and fierce gusts. Charles City boys and girls win home golf meet

CHARLES CITY — Jackson Molstead and Abby Milligan led the Comets boys and girls teams to first-place finishes Tuesday on their home course. Milligan won medalist status by shooting a 49 on Cedar Ridge Golf Course’s back 9. Teammate Gen Wandro was the runner-up with a 50. The girls team standings were 1. Charles City, 213; 2. SHEFFIELD, Iowa — The Nashua-Plainfield boys and girls golf teams each placed second Thursday, April 13, at Ridge Stone Golf Club in Sheffield. The Osage boys shot 172 to take first over the Huskies at 206. West Fork fielded only three golfers, not enough to record a team score. Drew Olson of Osage was the medalist shooting a 41. New owners of Cedar Ridge Golf Course get liquor license

CHARLES CITY — Floyd County granted a liquor license to new Cedar Ridge Golf Course owners Cary A. and Dena Perez. The Board of Supervisors voted 3-0 for a class C liquor license. It’s term would be 8 months effective from March 20. Auditor Gloria Carr said the owners were hoping to have it in place in time for an April 5 event.
