
The Nashua-Plainfield girls wrestling team traveled to Elkader on Monday and brought home three individual first-place finishes from the Central Scramble tournament.
Ryan Reams captured first in the 115C weight class by pinning New Hampton’s Kaylee Wertz in 49 seconds, teammate Lillie Caster at 2:00 and Denver’s Jules Neubauer in 52 seconds.
Elexa O’Neill placed first in 125 D with pins of West Delaware’s Emily Gudenkauf in 45 seconds, Denver’s Ella Martin at 1:46, and Sumner-Fredericksburg’s Isabel Christensen at 2:17.
Kylie Vance placed first in 190B. She won by fall in both her matches — in 31 seconds over Kierra Alexander, of North Fayette Valley, and in 57 seconds over Lydia Albertsen, of Union, La Porte City.
Sara Babu took second in 100. In the first round, Carly McGraw, of Alburnett, defeated her by a 12-5 decision, but Babu then won a 10-7 win over Macy Rose, of North Fayette-Valley.
Nevaeh Bloker won one of her two matches to place second in 155E. Blocker pinned Kendra Lux, of West Delaware, at 2:33.
Makinzey Brannon won one of three matches to take third at 130C. She won a 6-4 decision over Decorah’s Monty Winslow.
Eden Lamborn lost her one match in 235 B and Amberley Gerholdt dropped her two matches in 120C.
