N-P girls golf team advances to Region C finals

OSSIAN — The Nashua-Plainfield girls golf team advanced to the Class 1A regional finals after placing second as a team Monday in the first round for Region 3C at the Silver Springs Golf Course in Ossian. N-P’s Keagan Betsinger (5th place) and Miranda Crabtree (8th) qualified individually for the Region 3 finals, which will be Monday, May 21, at the Nashua Town & Country Golf Course. First two games teach CCHS soccer key lessons

Full audio report:  WAVERLY — This first season of high school soccer is a learning experience for Charles City players, coaches and fans alike. Tuesday was full of lessons to build on as the Comets prepare for their next game, which is Thursday against Garner-Hayfield/Ventura. Tuesday’s game against Waverly-Shell Rock was originally scheduled to be at Comet Stadium, which remains under a blanket of snow. Charles City received 3 1/2 more inches of snow Sunday. Rockford girls golf takes first in St. Ansgar; N-P’s Harrington is medalist 

ST. ANSGAR — Nashua-Plainfield junior Nicole Harrington’s score of 50 at the Acorn Park Recreation Area in St. Ansgar made her the medalist of Monday’s Girls golf meet. Rockford’s Abby Murray (51) and Sydney Fullerton (52), however led the Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock team to a first-place finish. The Warriors had a 221.  Nashua-Plainfield was second with a 234 and St. Ansgar third with 241.
