A Waterloo man accused of buying vintage toys using money stolen from the seller has been charged with a felony in Chickasaw County District Court.
Elvis Puric, 34, is charged with second-degree theft, a Class D felony.
According to the criminal complaint, Purvis went to a Fredericksburg address on Feb. 19 to buy vintage toys from another man. They made several transaction before the seller went to a back room to get a toy. The seller alleges in a written statement that this is when Puric opened the seller’s wallet and stole $1,825 and then used it to buy more vintage.
Puric was arrested on a Chickasaw County warrant in Benton County on March 20. He posted $5,000 bail and was released March 25.
He made his initial appearance in Chickasaw County on Monday, June 5. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 22 and he remains free on bond.
