Nashua Update (Feb. 5): Husky wrestlers capture 3rd at State Duals; School Board to meet about sports complex; City Council to accept member resignation

N-P boys win 3rd at State Duals

The Nashua-Plainfield boys varsity wrestling team captured third place at the IAHSSA State Dual Tournament on Saturday.

Fourth-seeded N-P opened the tournament with a 48-22 victory over No. 5 Wapsie Valley. Then top-seeded Don Bosco defeated N-P 43-27. In the third-place match, the Huskies took down No. 3 Alburnett 41-29.

Baseball/softball complex on N-P School Board agenda on Monday

The Nashua-Plainfield Board of Education will go over financing options and architectural designs at its meeting tonight, which begins at 6:30 p.m. in the high school commons. An update on fundraising and community involvement is also on the agenda.

Nashua City Council meeting Monday night

Rhonda Dean is resigning from the Nashua City Council, which will meet at 7 p.m. tonight at City Hall. Along with accepting her resignation, the meeting agenda also includes:

  • A building permit for Kwik Star.
  • A public hearing about setting the maximum property tax levy for fiscal year 2024.
  • Amending the snow removal/dumping ordinance.
  • Amending the ATV/UTV ordinance
  • A demolition/excavation permit for 123 Aspinwall St.
  • And more.
