
The Nashua-Plainfield girls wrestling team competed Monday at a 19-team tournament in Osage. Huskies Sara Babu and Ryan Reams place 4th and 7th, respectively, in their weight classes.
At 100, Sara Babu went 2-2 and received a bye. She finished 4th. She pinned Annabelle Rohret of Cedar Falls at 5:45 and won a 15-11 decision over Hailey Peterson of Perry. She received one bye and lost to Gable Heman of Osage by fall and Mia Kurth of Waukon by pin at 43 seconds.
At 115, Ryan Reams went 3-1 and placed 7th. She lost to Kamina Munson of Mason City by fall at 3:02 in the opening round. She then pinned her next three opponents: Cassidy Boge of Osage (48 seconds), Jaden Swarts of Cedar Falls (1:15), and Jasmine Oleson of Cedar Falls (1:01). In the 7th place match, she won by medical forfeit.
At 120, Amberley Gerholdt went 1-2 and Elexa O’Neill went 0-2. Gerholdt won by fall over O’Neill (2:57), and lost by fall to Mackenzie Brown of Osage (1:35) to Ashley Risvold of Cedar Falls (2:08). O’Neill lost by fall to Zoey Johnson of Osage (2:08)
At 125, Makinzey Brannon went 0-2 and received a bye. She lost by fall to Melanie Bruesewitz (3:24) and by 8-0 major decision to Averi Peterson of Mason City .
At 145, Amy Goerke went 0-2. She lost by fall to Tayla Stiefel of East Buchanan (24 seconds) and Jayden Rankin of Waukon (22 seconds)
At 190, Eden Lamborn went 0-2 and received a bye. H lost by fall to Taryn Boehmer (24 seconds) and Elizabeth Mills of Cedar Falls (24 seconds)
