Wapsie Valley and Grundy Center rolled into the second round of the Class A football playoffs, as Nashua-Plainfield and Hudson’s seasons came to a close.
Here are the results from the Friday, Oct. 21, Iowa high school football games.
CLASS A
West Hancock 44, Nashua-Plainfield 16
BRITT — Juniors Kale Zuehl and Jaxen Peterson combined for 206 of West Hancock’s 346 rushing yards Friday night at home to defeat Nashua-Plainfield, 44-16. The 2021 Class A State Champion Eagles (9-0) have won 22 consecutive games since Nov. 6, 2020, when Grundy Center beat them 20-14 the Class A State Tournament quarterfinals.
Nashua-Plainfield finished with a 5-4 record, it’s best since 2017 when the Huskies went 6-3.
Zuehl ran for 112 yards and scored four rushing touchdowns while Peterson put up 94 yards and two touchdowns for West Hancock (9-0) Friday night.
Huskies senior quarterback Bo Harrington rushed for 45 yards, including a 5-yard touchdown. He completed 11 passes for 125 yards. His top target was junior Trae Geise, who made four cates for 45 yards.
Junior Titus Evans ran for 32 yards and scored a 3-yard touchdown.
Junior Tate White was N-P’s leading tackler with 14
The Huskies have nine seniors heading to graduation: Harrington (3), Kendrick Huck (6), Devin Johnson (28), Aiden Lamborn (16), Thierry Müller (15), Landon Pratt (74), Kaden Wilken (21), Joel Winters (34) and Jackson Zwanziger (55).

Casey O’Donnell threw for two touchdowns — one to Dawson Schmitt from 32 yards out and one to Mason Harter from 11 yards. O’Donnell also rushed 1 yard for touchdown.
Hunter Kane and Aiden Shannon each also had a rushing touchdown, from five and six yards, respectively.
Braden Knight was 5-for-5 with his extra point kicks.
