Nashua morning update Sept. 30

Good morning Nashua. Here’s some local news.

1. Weather — Today should be sunny with a high near 69 and southeast wind 6 to 11 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight should be partly cloudy, with a low around 45 and a southeast wind 3 to 6 mph. Expect rising temperatures over the weekend. (Extended forecast)

2. Cross country — The N-P girls team placed fourth at the Bulldog Invitational in Hampton on Thursday. Two Huskies finished in the top 20 individually. Kadence Huck, ranked 8th in Class 1A, took second with a time of 20:08.72. Ellie Eick was 20th with a time of 24:10.12. (Full results). The boys team placed fifth. N-P’s highest finisher was Jase Hansen in 10th with a time of 19:01.08. (Full results)

3. Volleyball— Nashua-Plainfield volleyball (5-16) lost Thursday at home. Saint Ansgar (14-10) won 3-1 (25-15, 25-15, 16-25, 25-17). Game story & photos. Video highlights

4. Football — N-P football (4-1), hosts Grundy Center (5-0) tonight at 7 p.m.

Nashua’s Dam Craft and Vendor Show, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Welcome Center

Halloween in the Park, 5 p.m., Saturday, at Cedar View Park. Pumpkin decorating, train rides, games, music and more. Kids events at 5 p.m., costume parade and trick-or-treating at 6 p.m., and a kids outdoor Halloween movie at 7:30 p.m.
