Comet soccer suits up for first time; season schedule announced

CHARLES CITY — Most of Charles City High School’s soccer players received their game uniforms Thursday, March 22 — which is a little more than a week out from the new program’s first game. This inaugural crew’s excitement manifested in selfies and the urging between teammates to “hurry up” getting jerseys on and joining group poses.

The team’s official, professional photos will be taken Friday.

The co-ed program has 42 players, making it one of the larger sports programs in the district. Brad McKenzie is the head coach.

The Comets’ first game will be on the road Monday, April 2, in Mason City against the Mohawks. Home games will be played in Comet stadium.
