Winter storm warning in effect until noon Saturday

The National Weather Service issued this statement for the region for Friday, March 23-24:

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING

TO NOON CDT SATURDAY…

* WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches, with localized amounts up to 10 inches.

* WHERE…Portions of north central and northeast Iowa and southeast Minnesota.

* WHEN…From 7 PM this evening to noon CDT Saturday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Plan on difficult travel conditions. Be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times.
