Charles City Area Chamber of Commerce news release

CHARLES CITY — Who will be Charles City’s Man or Woman of the Year in 2018? You can have a say in selecting this year’s honorees!

The annual Community Volunteer Recognition Event, organized by the Charles City Area Chamber of Commerce and Community Revitalization, will take place at 8 a.m. at the Charles City Senior Center on Friday, April 27th. The event is open to all local groups and organizations to participate in and recognize their own top volunteer(s). The public is being invited and encouraged to attend and show its appreciation to those being honored. Tickets are $5 each and will include a light breakfast, with doors opening at 7:30 a.m.

Among the honorees will be the Man of the Year and Woman of the Year, as presented by the Chamber. Nomination forms are available on the Chamber website at www.charlescitychamber.com  or by emailing info@charlescitychamber.com, with the public able to submit nominations for consideration. Forms are also available for the “Caught in the Act” awards honoring someone who was seen this past year doing something unselfish for the benefit of others in the community. Nominations are due in to the Community Development Office at 401 North Main St. by 5 p.m. on April 11th.
