DES MOINES — The highest finish possible for area wrestlers at the Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament is third place. Brock Dietz of Nashua-Plainfield will wrestle for that on Saturday in the 106 pound bracket of Class 1A.

In the opening round, Dietz defeated Jose Flores of Sibley by a 7-5 decision and then in the second Cael Cassady of MSM by fall at 3:56. Jaymus Earl Wilson of Alburnett defeated him in the semifinals by a 6-0 decision.

Two Charles City Comets are wrestling for 7th place in rematches against their opening round opponents.

In the Class 2A 152-pound bracket, Dylan Koresh of Charles City won his first match over Justin McCunn of Red Oak by a 6-4 decision. A second-round loss by major decision 11-3 to Isaac Judge of LeGrande sent him to the consolation bracket were he won by an 8-3 decision over Luke Rohmiller of Webster City. Skyler Noftsger of Cambridge then defeated Koresh by a 9-1 major decision, which has Koresh now facing Justin McCunn in a rematch for 7th place.

In the Class 2A 160-pound weight Class, Jack Sindlinger lost his first round match to Jack Neuhaus of West Des Moines by fall at 5:30. He won his next two matches in the consolation round with pins of Zane Williams of Webster City (2:45) and Tucker Moore of WBND (1:50). However, Lincoln Coakley pinned Sindlinger at 5:12 to put the Comet sophomore into the match for 7th place against Neuhaus.
