Rockford junior Wyatt Ritter struck out five batters on the way to an 11-1 five-inning win Wednesday evening over West Fork.
Warriors batters connected for eight hits while taking four walks. Three were also hit by pitches. Nick Groven led the way by going 4-for-4 with a double, a triple. He scored twice and knocked in 2 runs.
Nashua-Plainfield 20, at Northwood-Kensett 5
Nine hits, 15 walks and three hit batters added up to 20 runs and a road victory for Nashua-Plainfield on Wednesday.
Northwood-Kensett grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning which evaporated in the third when the Huskies scored 6, followed by 9 in the fourth and 5 in the fifth.
Senior Bo Harrington led the way by hitting a triple and double, driving in 4 runs and scoring 2.
Newman Catholic 10, North Butler 0
North Butler opened the season on Monday with a 10-0 home win over Northwood-Kensett.
Newman Catholic flipped the script on Wednesday by beating the visiting Bearcats, 10-0, on Wednesday.
South Winneshiek 3, Saint Ansgar 1
South Winneshiek senior Keagen Streeter struck out 10 batters in seven innings as the Warriors slipped past visiting Saint Ansgar 3-1 on Wednesday.
Osage 13, Central Springs 3
Osage scored in every inning except the sixth in its second win of the season.
