Nashua AM Update (May 19): N-P girls golf team heading to State, track team members compete today

N-P girls golf team qualifies for State

Led by Paige Franzen, who shot 80 over 18 holes Wednesday, the Nashua-Plainfield girls golf team placed second at the Class 1A Region 4 final in Colesburg and qualified for the State Golf Tournament next week in Boone.

Franzen was Wednesday’s meet’s medalist, while North Butler’s Reagan Mulder took second with an 89.

Easton Valley won the regional championship followed by N-P (2nd, 412), Don Bosco (3rd, 419), East Buchanan (4th, 426), North Butler (5th, 427), Saint Ansgar (6th, 468) and Wapsie Valley (7th, 499).

Faith Franzen was N-P’s next best scorer with 109, followed by Natalie Sinnwell (110), Autumn Nelson (113), Payton Howland (145) and Ellie Woodman (159).
