N-P boys finish 4th in conference

Despite 10 Huskies setting new personal bests, the Nashua-Plainfield boys fell to fourth at the Top of Iowa conference tournament on Thursday in Nashua.

Osage won the conference meet Thursday in Nashua with 147 points, followed by Saint Ansgar (146), Central Springs (116), N-P (103), North Butler (70), Newman Catholic (58), West Fork (56) and Northwood-Kensett (43).

N-P head coach Chase Sudol was chosen at the TIC Boys Coach of the Year.

Forty-four of N-P’s team points came from jumping events. Hurdlers accounted for 27. High jumpers added 14 and long jumpers 3.

N-P placed first in the shuttle hurdle relay with a team of Kaden Wilken, Aiden Lamborn, Bo Harrington and Landon Foelske.

Lamborn had N-P’s only other first-place finish by clearing 6 feet in the high jump. Teammate Trae Geise took with a leap of 5-6.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Wilken placed second with a time of 15.87 and Titus Evans was third at 15.96. Both performances were personal bests.

Five of N-P’s six other relay teams contributed 29 points. The 4×400 team was disqualified because of a baton violation.

The 4x800m relay team of Harrington, Dylan Blanchard, Jase Hansen and Braiden Mitchell placed second with a season best time of
8:56.04.

The 4x200m relay team of Easton Richards, Aiden Gelner, Blaine Brannon and Navarii Williams captured third with a time of 1:38.05.

The 800m sprint medley squad also took third. Williams, Gelner, Lamborn and Evans finished in 1:40.86.

The 1600m sprint medley team of Brannon, Gelner, Blanchard and Hansen took fourth at 4:06.24.

Richards, Brannon, Gelner and Cam Cleveland placed fifth in the 4x100m relay in a time of 49.54.
