Nashua AM Update (Jan. 13): Warm up on its way; Harrington passes milestone

Good morning, it’s Friday, Jan. 13.

WEATHER

This chilly Friday will give way to a warmer Saturday, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Today and tonight will me mostly cloudy, with a high near 24 and a low around 13. The daytime northwest wind of 5 to 8 mph will become south after midnight

Saturday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 36. A south wind of 9 to 15 mph will gust as high as 24 mph. Sunday’s high will be around 40.

Harrington scores 1,000th career point in home victory

Bo Harrington’s 36-point performance in Nashua-Plainfield’ 72-42 win over Postville Thursday night at home pushed his career scoring total past the 1,000-point milestone.

N-P improved to 8-3 overall. Postville fell to 1-10.

The Huskies are at home again tonight, this time taking on Northwood Kensett (3-6). Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m

N-P girls win 2 in a row

The Huskies girls basketball team defeated Postville 56-21 at home Thursday night. N-P beat Rockford on Tuesday and now has a season record of 4-7. Postville is 0-11.

The only other Top of Iowa-East girls game saw Riceville defeating Central Springs, 40-33

N-P hosts Northwood-Kensett tonight. Tip-off is at 6:15 p.m.
