The collision of an SUV and a pickup northeast of Fairbank seriously injured their occupants on Sunday.
At 10:42 a.m., Jan. 15, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a two-vehicle accident on Y Ave. south of 40th Street. A 2016 Chevy Equinox operated by Isaac Buzynksi, 21, of Fairbank crossed the center line and collided with a 2000 Chevy S10 pickup operated by Eric Sterba, 50, of Sumner, says a news release from the Sheriff’s Office. Occupants were treated for possible severe injuries and both vehicles were totaled, it says.
Buzynski was cited for driving in improper lane.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Bremer County Sheriff’s Office, Oran Fire and Rescue, and Fairbank Ambulance.
