Oelwein man charged with drug crimes

WEST UNION — Estaban Ricardo Carrasco Jr., 21, of Oelwein, is charged with four controlled substance violations.

According to court documents, the Oelwein Police Department conducted controlled buys of illegal drugs on Aug. 7 and Aug. 16. Both times, Carrasco arrived in a red in Cadillac registered to his father. On Aug. 7, he allegedly delivered 1.018 grams of marijuana and 2.285 grams of cocaine. On Aug.16, he allegedly delivered 3.319 grams of cocaine and 9.985 grams of methamphetamine.

Oelwein Police arrested Carrasco on Oct. 11 on a warrant.

He made his initial court appearance on Oct. 12. Bail was set at $10,000 cash or approved surety.

He was bailed out Oct. 14.

He is charged with a Class B felony for the methamphetamine, two Class C felonies for the cocaine, and a Class D felony for the marijuana.

His next court appearance is a preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 26.
