3. GOV’T — The Oelwein City Council is continuing to ponder how the city could contribute $500,000 toward the $3.2 million Oelwein Events Center project. On Monday, it instructed City Administrator Dylan Mulfinger, who proposed one plan already, to explore some more.
“Council directed me to provide them with options to provide funding to the event center. This vote will take place October 10,” he said. “Council wants to see funding come from local option sales tax and hotel motel tax. I plan to provide options based on their request, my original proposal, and anew proposal that meets council’s expectations.”
