Good morning. Welcome to Thursday, Sept. 22. Here’s some local news to start your day.

1. WEATHER — The National Weather Service says today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 63. North wind 5 to 11 mph. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 45. Light and variable wind becoming east around 6 mph after midnight.

2. SPORTS — Nashua-Plainfield’s Kadence Huck remains No. 8 for Class 1A girls in the individual rankings released Tuesday by Iowa High School Track and Field + Cross Country. Click here to see the full individual rankings.

The N-P varsity boys and girls cross country teams will compete at 4:30 p.m., today at Pioneer Town and Country Club in Manly
