School to School 5k and Fun Run is Aug. 25
News Release CHARLES CITY — Washington Elementary School is sponsoring the third annual School to School 5k and Fun Run that will promote healthy habits while showcasing the Charles City Community School District schools, plus the 500 North Grand building and Immaculate Conception Catholic School. The 5k route will begin at the Charles City Middle School, run past all current school buildings and end at Washington Elementary School. The Fun Run is for children younger than 13-years-old and will take place on the Leon Mulford track at Washington Elementary School following the 5k. CC School Board chooses new superintendent
News Release The Charles City Community School District Board of Education announces today that Mike Fisher has been appointed Superintendent of Schools for the District. The board will take official action, pending a background check, approving Fisher’s contract at the Tuesday, May 29 regular Board of Education meeting. Fisher will officially begin on July 1, 2018. CCHS principal resigning to take AEA job
CHARLES CITY — Joshua Johnson’s final day as the Charles City High School principal will be June 30, according to the agenda for Thursday’s special meeting of the School Board. Johnson and Dean of Students Keith Reuter’s resignations are up for Board approval. CHARLES CITY — Twenty-three men and three women have applied to be the Charles City School District’s next superintendent. The School Board went into closed session to narrow the field Monday night at a special meeting at the North Iowa Area Community College building in Charles City. The board’s timeline to hire the replacement for departing Superintendent Dr. Dan Cox called for selecting semi-finalists on Monday, finalizing screening interview questions on May 10, and on May 21 settling on a formal interview schedule.
