Roughly five hours earlier, Tori Bearman made a little local history. She was the first competitor in the Big 4 Fair’s inaugural Turn and Burn racing event on Saturday. She tore into the fairgrounds’ dirt track by guiding a Polaris Ranger UTV through a course of poles.

Then, after putting away her red racing helmet and pink-strapped goggles, she was crowned as the 2023 Chickasaw County Fair Queen. Elaina Rosonke was chosen as her alternate.
