ROCKFORD — Eli Kalainoff wasted no time. In Monday’s first at bat, he planted a home run ball in the corn behind Rockford’s left field fence.
An inning later, the freshman did it again, this time adding 2 runs to Nashua-Plainfield’s burgeoning box score.
The Huskies went on to defeat the Warriors 18-0 in five innings as sophomore Dawson Glaser delivered an eight-strikeout performance in which he face only 16 batters, just one more than perfection.
Offensively, Glaser and Kalainoff each had 4 runs batted in. Senior Bo Harrington and junior Tucker Franzen each drove in 2 runs.
Seniors Landon Pratt, Kendrick Huck and Kaden Wilken and junior Wyatt Bouillon each drove in 1 run.
Twice, the Huskies stole home as the Warriors were preoccupied by a runner stealing second base.
N-P improved to 9-3. Rockford is 1-11.
