Nashua Update (March 31): Schools closing early because of weather

SCHOOL LETTING OUT EARLY

Nashua-Plainfield schools are letting out early at 1 p.m. today because of pending dangerous weather.

The National Weather Service is warning of a potent spring storm system that can bring a variety of weather including heavy rainfall, heavy snow and strong winds.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR NASHUA AREA

Today: Rain and thunderstorms likely to begin before 4 p.m. High near 69. Breezy, with a south wind 13 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tonight: Rain before 3 a.m, then snow. Some thunder is also possible. Low around 28. Windy, with a west wind 16 to 21 mph increasing to 24 to 29 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 43 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Saturday: A 30% chance of snow before 7 a.m. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 41. Windy, with a north wind 25 to 30 mph decreasing to 14 to 19 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph.
