Nashua AM Update (March 16): Big chill coming Friday; jail issues meeting on Monday

Good morning, it’s Thursday, March 16, 2023.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST

Today: Showers. Temperature falling to around 37 by 5 p.m. South wind 8 to 14 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph.

Tonight: Rain likely, possibly mixed with snow showers before 7 p.m., then a chance of snow between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Cloudy, with a low around 15. Wind chill values as low as -2. Windy, with a northwest wind 25 to 29 mph, with gusts as high as 46 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 24. Wind chill values as low as -4. Blustery, with a northwest wind 23 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph.

Chickasaw County and New Hampton officials will host a public meeting about jail issues at 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 20, at the Community Services Building. 260 E. Prospect in New Hampton. The Sheriff’s Office and New Hampton Police Department’s presentation will give an overview of the existing jail, its current and future needs, and options along with cost estimates.
