Nashua AM Update (March 7): 42 today, snow later this week; N-P track takes first in 3 events at Wartburg

Good morning, it’s Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

NASHUA FORECAST FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE

Today: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. East wind 7 to 14 mph.

Tonight: Cloudy, with a low around 31. East wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of rain after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 41. Southeast wind 9 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

HEAVY SNOW EXPECTED LATER THIS WEEK

“Confidence has been increasing for an impactful winter storm to target the Upper Midwest later this work week,” says a statement from the National Weather Service. “Several inches of snow are expected to accumulate from Thursday into Friday, impacting travel across much of the region. Specific timing and track of the system is still being evaluated. Therefore, any shift will result in changes to snowfall amounts and location of heaviest band.

“If you have travel planned Thursday or Friday, keep track of forecasts and consider altering your plans or timing to avoid the worst conditions.”


N-P track scores victories at Wartburg meet

The Huskies boys and girls track teams saw some early season success on Monday at the Wartburg High School Invitational

N-P’s Ellie Eick, Jalissa White, Jordyn Frost and Kadence Huck took first in the girls 4×400 relay with a time of 4:33.40.

Huck also took first in the girls 400m with a time of 59.55.

N-P’s Jase Hansen, Devon Johnson, Dillon Blanchard and Beau Harrington won the 4×800 relay with a time of 9:05.60.
