A Hawkeye man accused of having a sexual relation with a juvenile is facing two felony counts of sexual abuse following a week long investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
Kian Lee Halverson, 26, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 20, at his home in the 21000 block of P Avenue after a warrant was issued on Thursday, Jan. 19, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. He was released from the Fayette County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

Halverson is accused of having ongoing sexual relationships with a 13-year-old girl in 2018 and a 15-year-old girl from 2019-2020, according to criminal complaints. In both instances, he allegedly claimed to be 16-years-old although he was in his 20s. He is facing charges of third-degree sexual abuse involving a child victim (Class C felony) and second-degree sexual abuse (Class B felony).
If convicted, Halverson could spend up to 25 years in prison and be required to register on the state sex offender registration for life, says the news release.
