City Council to discuss parking lots — Do you know where all the free parking is downtown Oelwein . City administration is going to present a plan tonight to make sure people know through better signage and names, among other things. This work session begins at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall. Council to vote on Oelwein Celebration funding — Among the items on the agenda of tonight’s regular Oelwein City Council meeting is Oelwein Celebration’s request for $15,000 from the city’s hotel/motel tax to cover the stage/sound and some of the musical entertainment for the 2023 Oelwein Celebration. Organizers estimate the entire cost of the annual community festival is more than $40,000. The dates of this year’s celebration are Friday, June 2 through Sunday, June 4. (Click here to learn more)
