Good morning, Oelwein area readers. It’s Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022. Here’s what’s happening in local news

1. WEATHER — Today will be sunny, with a high near 73. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 51. South wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. (Extended Forecast)

2. SPORTS — It was a tough day at the State Volleyball Tournament for area teams Wapsie Valley and Sumner-Fredericksburg lost in the Class 2A quarterfinals

3. Catch “Snow White” at West Central this week and “M*A*S*H” in Oelwein next week.

West Central High School Drama will perform “Snow White and The Dancing Dwarfs,” at 7 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5 in the school auditorium. Admission is $6.

Oelwein Drama will present “M*A*S*H” at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, and Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Williams Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $5 and on sale at the high school office.
