Nashua update (Oct. 20): N-P runners vying for State today; trap shooting team fundraiser on Saturday

Good morning, Nashua area readers. It’s Thursday, Oct. 20. Here’s what’s happening locally

1.WEATHER — Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 60. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph. Tonight : Partly cloudy, with a low around 38. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the evening. Friday: Sunny, with a high near 72. South wind 8 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph.

2. N-P cross country teams trying to get to state today —The Huskies boys and girls will travel to Central Springs for a Class 1A state qualifying meet that begins at 4 p.m.

3. Trap shoot fundraiser — The Nashua Fish and Game Club is hosting a night shoot under the lights Saturday, Oct. 22, called “One Last Gun Blast.” Fifty targets, concession stand, medals for top 3 shooters and door prizes. Everybody is welcome and proceeds go toward the Charles City/Nashua Plainfield trapshooting team.

4. DOWNTOWN PROPERTY SOLD— On May 6, CC&E Properties LLC of Nashua purchased 309 Main Street, from Christopher N. Robinson for $1,000, according to Chickasaw County records. The building was constructed in 1920 and has been deteriorating.
