Two Comets have qualified for the State Cross Country Meet: Sophomores Xander Graeser and Nick Williams.
Charles City’s boys and girls teams traveled to Hart Ridge Golf Course in Manchester for a Class 3A State Qualifying Meet Wednesday afternoon. The top three teams and top 15 individual finishers from each race qualifed for the Saturday, Oct. 29, State Meet in Fort Dodge.
Graeser finished 9th with a time of 16:52.60. Williams took 10th at 17:01.94.
The top three boys teams were Marion (1st), Solon (2nd) and Clear Creek-Amana (3rd), followed by Vinton-Shellsburg (4th), Decorah (5th), Waverly-Shell Rock (6th), Charles City (7th), Clear Lake (8th), Wahlert Dubuque (9th), West Delaware (10th), Xavier Cedar Rapids (11th), Independence (12th) and
Hampton-Dumont-CAL (13th).
Top three girls teams were Solon (1st), Clear Creek-Amana (2nd) and Clear Lake (3rd) followed by Wahlert Dubuque (4th), Decorah (5th), Marion (6th), Xavier Cedar Rapids (7th), Waverly-Shell Rock (8th), Charles City (9th) and West Delaware (10th)
