Huskies win Homecoming, 32-12

Junior Titus Evans and sophomore Aiden Gelner combined for 218 of Nashua-Plainfield’s 253 rushing yards Friday night as the Huskies pounded out a 32-12 Homecoming victory over North Tama.

Evans ran for 85 yards and two touchdowns. Gelner had 133 yards and two touchdowns, including the longest of the day for N-P of 41 yards. He also scored a 2-point conversion.

Huskies senior quarterback Bo Harrington found some success in the air by completing five passes for 101 yards and one touchdown, which was a 23-yard reception by senior Joel Winters. Harrington was also intercepted twice.

Nashua-Plainfield has won two straight to lift its record to 3-1. North Tama is 1-3.

The Huskies defense kept North Tama scoreless until the second half. In the end, N-P stacked up six sacks, 12.5 tackles for losses and grabbed three interceptions.

Senior Aiden Lamborn recorded 4.5 sacks. Freshman Eli Kalainoff had one and Winters had a half-sack.

Evans, senior Kendrick Huck and junior Trae Geise each had an interception. Geise returned his for 23 yards.

UP NEXT: N-P travels to Conrad, Iowa, to take on the BCLUW Comets (3-1). Kickoff is at 7 p.m. BCLUW defeated North Butler 23-12 on Friday.
