A 2021 Nashua-Plainfield grad is part of a five-man squad out to prove it’s the U.S. Army’s best this week. The U.S. Army Forces Command Best Squad Competition began at Fort Campbell, Ky., on Monday, Aug. 14. SPC. Chase Betsinger, the son of Lisa and SFC (retired) Doug Betsinger, is a member of the squad representing the Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC). Betsinger is an all source intelligence analyst with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Space Battalion, Fort Carson. In June, Betsinger won the SMDC’s Soldier of the Year award. The Big 4 Fair returns at the end of the month, along with Turn and Burn Races. The fair will run Aug. 31-Sept. 4 in Nashua with entertainment lined up every day plus various food and merchandise vendors and exhibits of animals, tractors, and home goods, according to its web page Big4fair.net. The Big 4 Fair Board hosted its first Turn and Burn Races in July and decided to bring the event back over the Labor Day weekend.
