UPDATE: Nashua boil order ends

UPDATE: UPDATE: The boil order is no longer in effect as of 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12

•••

Don’t drink the water.

The city of Nashua issued a boil order today. Residents are advised to boil any water for drinking or food preparation until further notice.

A leak in a water Main caused a pressure drop in the system, according to City Hall. A boil order is required in that situation.

The order has led Dairy Treat to close for the day. Casey’s and Kwik Star have ceased their food operations.

Further advice issued by the city include:

  • If your tap water appears dirty, flush the water lines by letting the water run until it clears.
  • Boil water for 3 minute prior to drinking or food preparation or use bottled water.
  • Dispose of ice cubes and do not use ice from a household automatic ice maker.
  • Water used for bathing does not generally need to be boiled. Supervision of children is necessary while bathing so that water is not ingested. Persons with cuts or severe rashes may wish to consult their physicians.
