Huskies in Troy Mills tonight for baseball playoffs round 2
After beating Central City 6-3 on Monday, Nashua-Plainfield baseball will travel to Troy Mills today for a Class 1A Substate 3 District 5 second-round game against East Buchanan.
The Huskies (17-7) will play the Buccaneers (12-9) at 7 p.m. at North Linn High School.
The Buccaneers on Monday and playing at home beat Edgewood-Colesburg, 9-5, on Monday in the first round.

North Butler ends N-P softball season
The first round of the Class 1A Region 6 high school softball playoffs was the last for Nashua-Plainfield (2-26). North Butler (15-8) beat the Huskies 12-0 on June 30 In Allison.
North Butler will play travel to Mason City today (July 5) to play Newman Catholic (26-7) in the second round at 7 p.m.

Because of the weather, Charles City’s Independence Day fireworks were postponed until 10 p.m. Saturday, July 10

Nashua ambulance now in service
At 0001 July 1st. Nashua Area Emergency Medical Service started operations on July 1.
“This would have never of been possible without the amazing residents who have volunteered their time and all the support we have received!” says a post on the city of Nashua Facebook page. “A lot of folks questioned our ability to be able to run our own EMS service, but we rallied around each other as a community to prove this service is something we needed AND WANTED!”
