N-P, Saint Ansgar baseball split season series

The scales are balanced, to a degree.

On Wednesday, a pair of Saints pitchers struck out 15 batters while hosting and shutting out Nashua-Plainfield, 4-0.

When the Saints visited N-P on May 31, Huskies pitcher Dawson Glaser hurled a seven-strikeout 7-0 victory.

The Saints (9-3, 19-5) and Huskies (10-3, 13-5) are in a race for second place in the Top of Iowa-East. Newman Catholic is in first (13-0, 24-2).

N-P has three conference matchups in its final five regular season games. Saint Ansgar has four in its final seven games. Newman Catholic has three in its seven.
