At about 2:10 a.m., a Fayette County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction at the intersection of 1st Avenue Northeast and 5th Street Northeast, Oelwein. Illegal substances were found and seized. Kashell Elexsis Allison, 29, of Oelwein, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance 3rd offense (Class D felony) and operating while intoxicated 2nd offense (aggravated misdemeanor). Tylor Andrew Richmond, 31 of West Union, was arrested on charges of first-offense possession of marijuana (serious misdemeanor) and possession of drug paraphernalia, (simple misdemeanor). Richmond and Allison were taken into custody and transported to Fayette County Jail, where they were held until initial appearance. Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Iowa State Patrol, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office and Oelwein Police Department.
Tuesday, Feb. 2
At about 12:15 a.m., the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of R Avenue and Highway 93, Randalia. After an investigation along with the assistance of a drug K9 unit, illegal substances were located in the vehicle. Nancy Sheree Latham, 43 of Oelwein, was arrested and charged with two counts of second-offense possession of controlled substances – methamphetamine and other Schedule II (aggravated misdemeanors), unlawful possession of a prescription drug (serious misdemeanor) and possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). Latham was taken into custody, transported to Fayette County Jail. Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Fayette Police Department and Canine Unit.
