The National Weather Service’s forecast says today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 11. Wind chill values as low as -9 off a northwest wind 10 to 13 mph. Then, tonight, clouds will increase and the low will be around-1. Wind chill will be as low as -12 off a northwest wind 6 to 10 mph which will become east after midnight. (Extended Forecast)
HUSKY MUSICIANS IN ACTION TODAY
A small volunteer group of Oelwein 8-12th grade band members will be performing holiday carols today at Dollar Fresh starting at around 11:20 a.m.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Oelwein 57, Waukon 52
The Huskies turned this game around in the second half. Down by 7 to the one win Waukon team, Oelwein grabbed a 39-35 lead in the third quarter on their way to their fourth win.
Wapsie Valley 64, Kee 61
Mason Harter broke out with 28 points and 20 rebounds to lead the Warriors to their sixth win. Andrew Westpfahl added 17.
Tripoli 54, Sumner-Fredericksburg 48
The Panthers took a 27-24 lead over the Cougars into the half, but S-F locked down on defense in the third, winning its only quarter 8-7. Tripoli slammed the door with its best offensive output of the night by scoring 20 in the fourth.
Jesup 98, Don Bosco 75
Jack Miller led Jesup with 24 points and Cale Schissel contributed 22 as the J-Hawks won their fourth game.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Oelwein 42, Independence 37
The Huskies picked up their fifth win of the season, which is equal to their combined win totals of their past two seasons.
Wapsie Valley 63, Kee 40
The Warriors had an 11-point lead at the half in Lansing, which more than doubled by games end for WV’s third win.
Sumner-Fredericksburg 58, Tripoli 23
Isabelle Elliot led the Cougars with 32 points and 13 rebounds as S-F won its third win in a row. They are now 6-2.
Jesup 63, South Hardin 51
Jesup have now won three in a row.
