An Orchard, Iowa, woman who won a sexual harassment lawsuit against Floyd County in 2013, is facing felony charges based on accusations that she stole more than $21,000 over 10 years from her private law firm employer.
Theresa Ann Farmer, 59, of Orchard, Iowa, on Friday waived a preliminary hearing in Floyd County Court regarding charges of ongoing criminal conduct (Class B felony), first-degree theft (Class C felony) and unauthorized use of a credit card.
According to criminal complaints, during the years 2012-2022 while employed at Eggert, Erb and Ellington PLC Law Firm in Charles City she took more than $21,000 for her own personal use while knowing that she was not supposed to do so.
Attorney Nicholas Sarcone is representing Farmer.
In 2013, Farmer won a lawsuit against Floyd County claiming former County Attorney Jesse Marzen sexually harassed her. The jury awarded damages of $81,815.16
