The City of Charles City pop. (7652) is seeking qualified candidates for Public Safety Officer for the purpose of establishing a certified candidate listing.  Testing will be held on September 7, 2019.  A Public Safety Officer is a police officer who is trained in minimal firefighting.  Candidates must be 21 years old on date of hire and possess a high school diploma or GED.  All applicants must successfully complete civil service qualifying requirements which include, physical agility testing  written aptitude test and oral interview.  Successful candidates must be able to obtain Iowa Law Enforcement Academy certification within one year of hire paid for by the city. Pre-employment physical exam, drug screen, and background check are all required.  Deadline for application in August 23, 2019.
