outh Main Street closure delayed one week

The planned street closure for South Main Street has been delayed one week and will now be closed from Parkside Lane to the Charley Western trail crossing starting July 8 due to the South Main Street asphalt overlay project.  The initial storm sewer work will take approximately 2 weeks and following this work, Main Street will be closed intermittently due to the asphalt overlay work.  Questions on this project can be directed to the Charles City engineering department at 257-6300

PREVIOUSLY REPORT — CHARLES CITY — South Main Street will be closed from Parkside Lane to the Charley Western Trail crossing for storm sewer work as part of the South Main Street asphalt overlay project starting Monday, July 1st.  The storm sewer work is expected to be completed in approximately two weeks.  Following the storm sewer work, South Main Street will be closed intermittently due to the asphalt overlay project.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area and utilize South Grand Avenue to 11th Street as a route to bypass the construction area.  Questions can be directed to the Charles City Engineering Department at 257-6300.
