Next phase of Rockford streetlight project begins Friday, Aug. 10

ROCKFORD — The city of Rockford announced this week that the next phase of the Rockford Street Light Project begins Friday, Aug. 10. Four feet of sidewalk on the 100 block of West Main (both north and south sides) will be torn out and replaced. Matching antique light poles will be installed.

The project is expected to be completed within two weeks. Main Avenue will have both lanes open. Please be aware of machinery and workers and remember to make complete stops at both stop signs. Parking will still be available. There will be no working street lights on the 100 block for the duration of the project.
