Alex-Wiebke-1492011586MASON CITY — Alex Parvon-Charles Wiebke, 19, of Mason City, IA died Monday, April 10, 2017 due to injuries sustained in an accident.

A visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. with a special time for classmates and friends between 4-5 pm on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd St SE, Mason City. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with a one hour prior visitation on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Rhythm Church, 21 8th St SE, Mason City, with Pastor Beau Stringer officiating. Burial will follow at Britt Evergreen Cemetery in Britt, IA.

Alex was born on November 20, 1997 to Travis and Julie (Rowley) Wiebke in Dubuque, IA. He grew up in Dubuque until age 9, then moved to Britt/Belmond, IA and attended schools until his family moved to Mason City, where he graduated in 2016.

He was an active member of Rhythm Church in Mason City and also a member of Youth for Christ. Attending church was very important to him. Alex had aspirations of someday becoming a military chaplain but unfortunately he exceeded their maximum height requirement. Alex stood at 7 ft and 3 in tall; which he was extremely proud of. Although he was built to play football, Alex was opposed to hurting anyone. He was described as a “gentle giant,” because of his warm soul and kind heart.

Alex had a very close relationship with his niece, Nehryah and loved to snuggle with her. He also loved his pets: dog, Jantts and cat, Onyx. In his free time he enjoyed bowling and shooting pool. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Alex had a hidden talent of playing his ukulele; which was special to him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Travis and Julie Wiebke of Mason City; sister, Tori Wiebke and significant other Anthony Holmes and their daughter Nehryah Holmes of Mason City; Aunt, Tracy (James) Wood of Woden, IA; Uncles, Troy (Emily) Wiebke of Mason City and Jeff (Teri) Rowley of Dubuque and numerous other aunts and uncles; grandparents: Tom and Judy Priebe of Dubuque, Diane and Kenneth Picker of Britt, Lewis and Bonnie Dowell of Michan, TX, and Charles and Betsy Wiebke of Dubuque; special buddy Maxx; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by several great-grandparents; niece, Aryanna Wiebke and nephew, Troy Jr. Wiebke.

In expression of sympathy memorials may be directed to the Alex Wiebke Memorial Fund.
