Your morning update: It’s Prom day in Greene!

Bearcats will be dancing tonight and shoppers will line up in Charles City this morning.

The National Weather Service forecast for today calls for partly sunny skies and a high temperature near 60 degrees. Saturday. The wind will be light and variable.

More clouds will drift in Saturday night. The predicted low is around 40.

Then Sunday showers are likely mainly after 2 p.m. But, at least, the high temp will be in the 50s.

Saturday, April 1
Charles City ChickFest, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fun-filled day of shopping, pampering, and a day out with the girls, friends and family. The first 150 participants through the Chamber doors receive a ChickFest Swag Bag. Each Swag Bag is full of goodies, treats, deals, coupons and more from participating ChickFest businesses.
High school trap shooting invitational, 8:30 a.m., Nashua Gun Club
Nashua-Plainfield FFA Banquet, 3 p.m., junior high commons at N-P Jr/Sr High School
Nashua-Plainfield FFA Alumni meeting, 4-6 p.m., junior high commons at N-P Jr/Sr High School
North Butler Prom schedule:
— 6-7 p.m — Open House at the Greene Comm. Center 
— 6:45 p.m — Individual/Couple Pictures begin – NBHS Old Gym Stage 
— 8 p.m. – Grand March – NBHS Old Gym 
— 8:30-8:40 p.m — Jr./Sr. Class pictures – NBHS Old Gym 
— 9-11:30 p.m. — Dance at the Greene Comm. Center — Students will be transported to the Community Center by bus. All students must be at the Junior/Senior High School no later than 8:30 P.M. in order to board the bus, or they will not be admitted to the dance. Students who choose to leave the dance will not be readmitted, and will not be able to attend After Prom. A member of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office will be in attendance at Prom 2017.
