MASON CITY — A 78-year-old Greene, Iowa, woman died Monday after a crash on Highway 18 near Mile Marker 190, which is on the southeast side of Mason City. Darlene Ann Kiefer was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Iowa State Patrol crash report updated Tuesday morning. According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 1988 Buick Century driven by Kiefer was traveling east in the westbound lane of Highway 18 before 11:30 a.m. Monday.
